Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Jenna I — 21 Dec 2010
Impossible though the notion of a favourite film may be, when pushed this is the one I pick. The performances, the photography, the lighting, the score â" every element combines perfectly to create a chilling fairy tale (which like all the best Grimm stories has the torment of children at its heart) and a film that is genuinely like no other.
