Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Gavin S — 10 Jan 2012
Stone Cold Classic. This is American Gothic. This is a fantastic film, with one of the all time great baddies - Reverend Harry Powell, played superbly by the supremely underrated Robert Mitchum. Parts of the film trapse into a more impressionist piece ripe with symbolism, but on the whole, it's a great piece of filmmaking, a must see for all film fans.
