Review of The Nice Guys (2016) by Al K — 21 Jan 2017
"Two Legal Faces", it smells of the 60's, 70's face and 80's taste, it's a fun comedy that takes place in Los Angeles in the 70's, that is, we have all that neon, partying, hippie and colorful atmosphere of the time .
And all this climate is very well placed in the film, which at one point reminds me a lot of "Vicio inherente" only with a greater humorous vein and even a better development in relation to the work of PTA.
Shane Black has no scruples, and that's very good, the script is a lot of fun, it does not let the viewer go off for a second, the picture is not extraordinary, but it's very good, and the chemistry of Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling is incredible, although there is a little more development of both, Shane's black humor is rewarding, the social critiques of the film are good, although they are handled and shallow, we do not have here a moral, a sense or a lesson, only two Faces, a thieving detective with alcohol problems and a solitary sociopath with problems with violence who come together to solve a real-life affair with unexplained situations with black humor in the best "Fargo" style.
"Two Cool Guys" is a movie that is worth your attention, because at least you'll have fun.
