This is an entirely different kind of movie than the "karate kid". This movie has the "air" of the karate kid , but is different in it's own way. It trades some elements that the first had, but gained some that it didn't.
If you are looking for a movie with a more "common" feel, but still looking for the the flair of the karate kid, then I recommend this movie. If you are into the more classic karate kid feel, then you should probably skip this movie.
