Review of The New World (2005) by Keith M — 27 Jul 2010
Ah, Terrence Malick. You have such a way of capturing visually interesting shots. Why can't you be as good a story teller as you are cinematographer? Slow paced and uncaptivating. I was really looking forward to a good retelling of a classic historical drama.
I was seriously let down. Like the Thin Red Line, the story is hard to follow and you're not sure how you got from one place to another. Although it looks authentic, it really lacks the feeling that it is.
