Review of The New World (2005) by Ippei K — 02 Jan 2011
The film has an epic feel about it; but due to its slow story telling and over use of orchestral music, it just doesn't leave you in awe. Performances are solid without being outstanding, and the heavily-emphasised visual aspect of the film is quite beautiful.
But in the end the movie just doesn't feel rounded enough, and once the credits roll, you're left waiting.
