Sometimes nothing hits the spot like some direct-to-video horror. I hit the Redbox tonight planning to spend some time with Brittany Murphy, maybe, or - better yet - Mike Vogel. I was disappointed to see that my only option starred Kevin Costner. I hate Kevin Costner. I haven't actually seen many of his movies... Field of Dreams, that was good, and a lame mystery where the played the president, or something... so it's not that I think he's a terrible actor. He just seems like such a douche. I don't like to look at him.
I almost passed, but then I saw that Costner's costar is Ivana Baquero, the little girl from Pan's Labyrinth. So what the hell? I gave it a shot.
Baquero is okay, and she's certainly becoming a beautiful young woman. But the best performance is given by the flick's youngest actor, Gattlin Griffith, who is very effective.
Everything else here stinks like open ass. Watch Kevin Costner Google! Marvel at shocking plot holes! Wonder why a race of "gods" living in an Indian burial mound look like... oh, just forget it. The thing is crap. Not fun crap, either.
And it turns out that Costner IS a bad actor. Shockingly bad.
