Scary, sad and not greatly appropriate for children.
The 2 sequels are also far better.
I give it 3 stars because there are some good parts and it did at least manage to spawn two 2 better films.

Supposedly a child's film, though considerably depressing for an emotionally young person. When watching this, beware the horse does die, and it is most upsetting. As well as this, there is a scary wolf/dog out to kill. I think the 2 sequels are far better.
