Review of The NeverEnding Story (1984) by Raul T — 15 Sep 2010
Never mind the awkward dialog at the end of the movie, or the questionable judgment in exalting skipping class and bullying bullies. Those are flaws, yes, but they somehow don't take away from the charm of this clever little fairy tale.
Funny in just the right places, hilariously overly dramatic in others--with some gloriously dark scenes that would doubtlessly scare younger kids. Noah Hathaway plays a great co-protagonist and makes up for the weaker job done by Barret Oliver.
Not a movie for those who forget what its like to be a kid, but a fun, nostalgic movie for those who do.
