"The Neon Demon" is to modeling what "Black Swan" was to ballet. This psychological Horror isn't as strongly written as the ladder but it's extremely flashy and colorful. The director has an eye for style in shot choices and Elle Fanning works well as the main character.

The biggest issue is that a major audience most likely won't truly appreciate the satire on body image and perfection and some material is a bit too far out and bizarre including a Lesbian necrophilia scene in its final half which will surely shy most away.

With a more solid script, "The Neon Demon" could've been just as great as "Black Swan".
