Nicolas Winding Refn sets up a really engaging premise with strong themes and a great cast. Unfortunately, The Neon Demon goes way off the rails in its second half. It still has Refn's signature flare for style, with some absolutely breathtaking visuals, but I was ultimately left feeling empty and disappointed.
