Review of The Neon Demon (2016) by Minda P — 30 Jun 2016

Very stylized, often surreal. There were a LOT of things going on in this movie. Some made sense, and some were just weird. And I'm okay with that! Is this movie for everybody? Hell no. But if you're up for a bit of a challenge, check it out.

Refn makes some interesting and sometimes uncomfortable choices, but it's nice to see a director throw some weird perceptions through a film.

Elle Fanning did a good job and she's a pretty girl, but I wasn't convinced that she was the most stunning woman on the planet as was everyone in the movie. Keanu Reeves had a pretty small part as a total d**k, which he totally nailed. He's a big part of why I wanted to see it, plus it looked like a stylized creepshow. It entertained me.
