Review of The Natural (1984) by Kj S — 05 May 2008
Well, subtle- it ain't. But knowing that its an adaptation of an Arthurian legend, I can't fault it too much for the lightning bolts and mysterious witch ladies. But I think, generally, I just don't like Robert Redford movies.
I mean, he didn't direct this, but it had the same amount of foggy sunbeam shots as if he'd made it himself. The cheese factor just trumps the connection I could feel towards the characters. Overall, its just kind of boring and melodramatic.
Kind of like baseball.....? no offense :).
