Review of The Natural (1984) by Jeanine V — 25 Jan 2009
Decidedly flawed, but still something to admire. Redford plays the part of Roy Hobbs well, and the numerous mythological factors in the film make it a more than different take on the sport of baseball.
The film is simply picturesque, with lovely cinematography and a more than famous score that has been overused to the utmost extend. There are some strange moments, but most of them do not distract too much from a well-made baseball film.
