Review of The Namesake (2006) by Valeria P — 04 Dec 2008
This is a really good adaptation of Jhumpa Lahiri's book. As with all the books I love that get transposed to film, I am always afraid that the filmmaker will botch the job. However, this adaptation is a wonderful accomplishment.
The actors inhabited their characters very well. I was particularly touched by the portraying of Ashima and her struggle to adapt to life in the US.
