Review of The Namesake (2006) by Irmayanty I — 21 Jul 2009
An incredible showcase of the Indian culture. Though the movie was a bit slow for my tastes there are enough good things about this film that the negatives are easily overlooked. To top it off, the actress who played the mother gives an inspired performance and it was rather interesting to see Kal Penn tackling a dramatic role after Harold and Kumar.
Overall, it's really the heart and soul of this movie that won my recommendation.
