Review of The Namesake (2006) by Amanda V — 29 May 2012
This movie gave a good insight into Indian culture, but throughout the movie, there was no indication that the storyline had progressed in terms of the time. Next thing I knew Ashima, (the mother of Gogol) had two kids. I was like wow, that was fast!
The character I disliked was Gogol because he was ashamed of his name and he never spent time with his mother whilst his father was away. He was "too busy" spending time with his girlfriend's family. Although the storyline was good, the movie was a bit too slow for me.
