Review of The Namesake (2006) by Elin W — 19 Nov 2008
The Namesake was a pretty good movie. I'd been hearing a lot of good things about it for a while. It's told in 2 parts, with the first part about how a young Indian couple meets and gets married, and the second part centers around their son who is struggling to balance his American life with his parents Indian culture and beliefs.
The acting is very strong, especially from Irfan Khan as the father. The movie is definitely worth seeing, but I certainly wouldn't call it a great film.
