Review of The Name of the Rose (1986) by Pedro P — 21 Jan 2008
Obviously doesn't have the same effect as Umberto Eco's novel, but it's the kind of example of how to adapt a book. I actually remember perfectly the first time I saw the film 'cause it was in school.
After we read the book - everyone read "The Name of the Rose" in school - a very cool teacher of mine took us to see the film. A nice little childhood memory. Christian Slater gives the finest performance of his career.
Sir. Sean Connery is and will always be a god.
