Review of The Naked Kiss (1964) by Michael O — 20 Mar 2010
"Film is like a battleground. There's love, hate, action, violence, death... in one word: emotion." Fuller in Godard's 'Pierrot le Fou'.
Memorable and entertaining in every sense of the word. Throws all of its emotions on its sleeves, packs in the action, and throws in a little class. Poetry, money shoved into mouths, POV smack downs, singing children, low-life cops, prostitutes with hearts of gold: an homage to the new wave from the man who fueled it.
Pure love for the art.
