Review of The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988) by Sandra M — 23 Oct 2009

Rarely does one find a successful movie (let alone movie series) that was sparked from a not so successful television series. The Naked Gun movies fit this category. The Kentucky Fried Theater continues to hone its product into a more thoughtful type of satire.

Unlike the earlier Kentucky Fried Movie and Airplane movies, this one focuses a bit more on plot. The gags do not hit the audience with near the frequency, but they do not need to do so. The characters are both believable in their roles as well as delivering the humor.

Add to the fact that it might be more difficult to find an actor who appears to have as much of a good time as Leslie Nielson did during the baseball game. As usual, much fun.
