It works on so many levels, you just can't resist its appeal, it's ultra-funny, it's a nicely done spoof on detective stories, even parodies noir style. And of course on top of all that is Leslie Nielsen.

It really is funny, I haven't laughed so hard for a long time. The movie follows the tradition of the dead-pan humour of "Airport' and would later be used in such films as 'Hot Shots' and 'Scary Movie' but Leslie Nielsen is head and shoulders ahead of them all.
