A little broader than the TV series that spawned it, but nowhere near as broad as its sequels. Drebin comes off a lot more like the uncaring, oblivious force of nature of his Police Squad portrayal, than he does in the subsequent films.
George Kennedy is a notable weak spot, lacking the rapport Alan North had with Nielsen.
