Review of The Naked City (1948) by Caleb M — 09 Sep 2007
This is a pretty good whodunit and is probably the first procedural. It plays very much like an episode of Law and Order, only without the order part and the fancy forensic technology. It practically screams TV series as you're watching it.
(Incidentally, the TV series based on the movie ran from 1958-1963.) It also features some great shots of New York, and the Irish detective in charge of the murder investigation is great.
