The movie is probably my favorite musical of all time. It has a brilliant story and is masterfully made. Everyone, including Robert Preston, Shirley Jones, and Hermione Gingold, has show stopping songs, which are delightful to watch.
I think my favorite songs are "Trouble in River City," "Lida Rose," and "Till There Was You." Robert Preston is so slick in the title role. Paul Ford is also very funny as the mayor, especially in the scenes of the town meetings.
