Review of The Music Man (1962) by Melody D — 02 Aug 2008
One of the movies that captures the energy of a role originator in Robert Preston as Professor Harold Hill. A gem of Americana. The city council as a barbershop quartet is a pleasure. Fun to see Ron Howard before he was Opie.
Shirley Jones is lovely. Buddy Hackett and Hermoine Gingold are hilarious.
