(5 Stars) The Muppet Christmas Carol is easily one of the best renditions of Dickens' classic tale. It's a great introduction to the story for youngsters, it's funny for any age, and it's made for repeat Christmas season viewings.
Although it's a comedic musical, it sticks close to the Dickens story but has enough freedom for Muppet humor... and who doesn't like the Muppets? Michael Caine is a great Ebenezer Scrooge; he's ruthless, dramatic, and you really believe by the end that he's changed man.
The songs of this movie are great as well; it's very hard for a musical to come up with more than one memorable song when most in this film are catchy and worth humming. This is probably my personal favorite adaption of A Christmas Carol.
.. I must watch it once a year, or it doesn't feel like Christmas.
