A Christmas classic!
Director Brian Henson captures his father Jim Henson's warm spirit with his brilliant take on Charles Dickens' classic novel. The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) is a holiday season favorite of mine.
The pace is quick, the songs are memorable, the writing is funny, but also heartfelt, and the puppetry is masterful as always with the Muppets.
Michael Caine is fantastic as Scrooge. His greed, cruelty, and malice is self -evident. Then, his turn into the kind and caring man of the past, present, and future is something to behold. I think Caine really nails the tears in the eyes performance necessary for adding warmth to Scrooge's tricky character. He truly gives a phenomenal performance here.
I think every family should watch The Muppet Christmas Carol each Christmas time annually. It is as fun and humorous with the same depth every time I revisit it.
