Review of The Mummy's Tomb (1942) by Hunter D — 30 Jul 2008
I enjoyed seeing the characters return from 'The Mummy's Hand', but bringing Kharis (played by Lon Chaney Jr.) to America made for a remarkably uninteresting story. I love Lon Chaney Jr., but he doesn't have much to do in the role of Kharis, except shamble around small-town America, strangle victims who lack the good sense to run, and carry passed-out dames.
There is something to be said for the B-movie kitsch factor here, but the few cool moments this movie has are overshadowed by the many moments that are so head-slap stupid it's hard to get past them.
