Review of The Mummy (2017) by Darth V — 01 Nov 2017
Okay, so I watched the DVD of this movie last weekend. I was originally going to catch it in the theaters, but after the dismal reviews I decided to wait for it to come out on DVD. I ordered it 2 or 3 weeks ago and didn't get around to watching it till last weekend.
I agree with all the critics that this movie has more to do with Tom Cruise and not enough about the The Mummy. This was not a terrible movie, but it probably could have been a little bit better with less Tom Cruise, his blonde sidekick girlfriend and the weirdness of the Jekyll/Hyde character portrayed by Russell Crowe.
The Brendan Frazier vehicle from 20 years ago is far superior and possibly the best version yet.
