Review of The Mountain Between Us (2017) by Xue Z — 07 Oct 2017
I liked it personally. It was not one of those movies that keep you heart at our throat the entire time, and at times you are wondering what's ahead. But I thought it was authentic and true. A tragedy or traumatic experience changes you.
Something that used to be warm and perfect may no longer be so. I did not find the romance fake, it's quite common for people to fall in love in crisis, the brain is not exactly great at understanding emotional arousal from love or other sources.
I found it a genuine journey of two people caught in a despairing situation and thrived together.
