Review of The Mountain Between Us (2017) by Chris D — 06 Oct 2017
My wife read the book and couldn't wait to see this movie. We both wish we would have waited. Look, it's not that it is really bad but it is just not that good. It's a bit hokey. Scenes feel forced, choices made by the characters don't make sense, and weird random events that cause problems just come randomly it if the blue that it seems like nature itself is really trying hard to kill them.
The parts of the book that gave it life are either removed or changed to make it feel hollow and you find yourself sort of cheering for the end.... but then it doesn't end but tells a final act of what happens to them afterwards and it is like a bad tinder date that you know won't last but the people are like, "Well, it could be worse but I'm kinda lonely so what the hell.
". There you go. This is also my first review.
