Review of The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) by Josh — 24 Feb 2009
The movie was well put-together. Unfortunately it did not accurately portray Ernesto Guevara. The man portrayed in this movie was not the same "Butcher of La Cabana" who slaughtered hundreds of people for their political viewpoints, including children.
He was not the same man who said that having trials was unncessary. Not the same man who admitted that he was coldhearted and full of hatred, and who encouraged his fellow revolutionaries to be the same way.
This movie would have been so much better if it had honestly portrayed the man... rather than selling out to the myth. With all the emphasis that was put on Che being brutally honest, you would think they could have at least honestly portrayed his brutal side.
