Review of The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) by Anders M — 03 Jul 2009
The Motorcycle Diaries is the story of the transformative journey through South America undertaken by Ernesto "Che" Guevara and his friend Alberto Granado, partly on the latter's old motorcycle.
Che, who was a medical student in Buenos Aires, becomes deeply affected by the plight of ordinary South Americans. He concludes that the similarities in their cultures and their shared downtroddenness would lead them to unite against their oppression in the form of a revolution.
Gael Garcia Bernal, who plays Che in the movie delivers a convincing portrayal of Che and his transformation. I highly recommended this movie for its outstanding locales, wonderful direction and brilliant acting by the entire cast.
