Review of The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) by Nikkoda T — 11 Oct 2012
A truly astonishing movie. A movie that not only exposed the mind, but what motivates the mind. The Motorcycle Diaries is about two young men who travel across South America. These two men are Ernest Guevara and Alberto Granado.
On their travels, Ernesto and Alberto come across many land and many people. A typical setting, but what makes this movie inspiring is the corruption of the government that is set behind the people that they meet.
The Motorcycle Diaries is the telling behind the inspiration of a revolutionary, a man who after meeting several people, came with ideas and fought for those ideas. The chemistry with the two young leads is absolutely great, but their characters are a little cliched.
Ernesto is the perfect, kind, and innocent one while Alberto is the sleazy, lazy, and confident one. Cliched, but the two leads are great. The story is a little cliched as well. A small group of travelers who plan to go travel across a certain area, while on the way they meet people who change their lives.
Typical, but in this movie, is told great. The Motorcycle Diaries has its heart-felled moments while being serious and realistic. It's a great memorable movie with heart, but is also dark and can be cold hearted at times.
But it still sinks itself into our hearts as being a great, serious, and revolutionary movie.
