Review of The Most Hated Woman in America (2017) by Heather M — 03 Apr 2017
A story with so much potential that was swept away beneath a sea of religious apologetics. While I would not compare O'hair to MLK as a person, the best way I can describe the movie would be if someone made a biopic of MLK and only focused on his affairs and assaination.
Rather than applauding her efforts towards equality and separation of church and state, instead the director makes the movie about her horrific death. A few details are sporadically spread throughout the story more so to subtly insinuate that O'Hair brought her death upon herself.
And somehow her estranged son is made the righteous hero overcoming his mothers deviant teachings and becoming a servant of Christ. The acting was solid overall. But other than that there's not much good to be said about the movie.
