Review of The Most Dangerous Game (1932) by Christopher S — 16 Apr 2009
Entertaining and influential adventure classic from Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Shoedsack. It's pretty dated, and gets off to a slow start with a lot of slow an talky scenes. But once the climactic chase gets going, it's undeniably suspenseful - with some innovative camerawork, atmospheric set design, and great vintage special effects.
The action-packed and visually stunning finale is particularly memorable. An solid forerunner to Cooper and Shoedsack's later spectacles.
