Review of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013) by Melissa S — 11 Sep 2014
Honestly, when I first watched this movie at home, I didn't even pay attention, so I actually had to watch it again to grasp what it was talking about EVEN THOUGH I read all the books. The first I noticed (albeit shallow) is how off the characters looked for the parts.
Lily Collins could pass by, but she was a lot prettier than what I had in mind (whatever) but Jace and Simon were both not only unappealing (I know, I sound like a 12 year old girl) but every time they were on screen, I cringe just because of how unsettling they look.
I don't remember most of the film, but I already assumed it would be nowhere like the book. Would be more successful as a bad parody rather than the actual silver screen. Way too much teen angst for me to handle.
Overall, it at least was better than the percy jackson movie, now that, was a true nightmare.
