As a fan of the books, I'd have liked the movie to follow more closely but it does a good job. It is what it was meant to be and that is an urban fantasy romance with a sci-fi feel, not a Twilight copycat like most of these nimrods criticize it as! This book was out BEFORE Twilight series so, if anything, Twilight ripped off this book! Go into this movie expecting a fantasy teen angst movie and remember.
..it's just a movie! sit back, relax, and enjoy a bit of fantasy, a bit of teen romance, and a bit of action and don't set your expectations too high! It's quite a decent movie if you suspend your disbelief and have fun!
