Review of The Monuments Men (2014) by Jordan R — 29 May 2014
Seeing WW2 through a reflection about what's art to humanity makes the film fresh, it's not a "common" film about war. but it has its lengths, and the plot in the last half-hour is way too easy, way too simple.
I would have liked it more if they had to struggle hard to get a piece of art. But still, it was a good moment, with emotion, laughs sometimes, and the pieces and paintings are remarkably shown and contemplated.
The thinking is good as well, and makes us think about what we want to leave for next generations, as previous ones have done.
