Given the gem that is The Strangers, I had very high hopes for The Monster. Sadly, The Strangers this is not. The Monster is populated with unforgiving characters, a poorly incorporated nonlinear format and underwhelming kills that just seem to happen.
.. and when they do, they're tension-less and to characters you don't know or care to know. Even the creature design feels familiar. This was quite a disappointment.
