A slow-paced movie that suffers greatly from split personality. They´ve made a classic, atmospheric monstermovie and mixed it up with a relationship drama. Many critics seem to love it, but why is beyond me.
It doesn´t mix well. Both "parts" of the movie is well made and acted by all means, but all the drama - a background story of the mother-daughter relationship - slows down the pace and repeatedly interrupts the atmosphere.
It´s like clicking between two separate movies and genres all the time - but with the same main characters. I would of loved to have seen the monster movie without all the interruptions.
