This film is beautifully shot. If you're just looking for something visual, you'll enjoy this movie. If you're looking for a tight story and pace, you probably won't. It begins to really drag in the middle because not much happens to keep it moving.
The thing that left me most baffled was Mom's decision to sacrifice herself AFTER they had already figured out what would keep the monster at bay until daylight. That being said, I'm a big Zoe Kazan fan.
She's always a pleasure to watch, even if the film doesn't quite do her justice.
