Review of The Monolith Monsters (1957) by Zahi S — 02 Jun 2009

I think everyone knows of a movie that seems silly today, but gave them nightmares for weeks as a child. I remember, at the time, I lived in the desert, surrounded by many large "monoliths", (well, didn't every 50's sci fi take place in the desert? are aliens drawn to sun and sand?).

I really wish they would remake *this* movie, but instead of alien meteors with interesting silicate patterns, how about nanotech "grey goo"? Beef up the special effects and get accurate symptoms and we have a movie for our age to counter all the nano-hype, (call my agent for fees).
