Review of The Mist (2007) by Patryk C — 27 Jul 2012
When have Darabont and King ever been a bad combination? Not The Green Mile, not Shawshank Redemption, and certainly not here. This movie is tense and suspenseful, although it is stuck in the horror movie formula for the most part.
There is violence and a little gore, but it is used right and not to excess. The "monsters" in this movie will make you cringe but only because you will feel like you have seen them all before just not quite like this.
It is long but it is smooth and feels as if very little time has gone by since it is so engrossing. My best advice would be to go in to this movie with no expectations and just watch it as a horror movie.
Try not to put the KING label on it and you will not only thoroughly enjoy it, you will be pleasantly surprised.
