Review of The Mission (1986) by Ratnakar S — 01 Dec 2007
This is a really underrated movie and a classic of first order. Wonderfully depicts the atrocities of the Spanish and Portugese colonial rulers in the name of civilization. Spectacular shots of the Igassu falls and a memorable score by Ennio Morricone.
Watch out for some brilliant performances from Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons. Not a movie to be missed at any cost.
