Review of The Mission (1986) by Carole M — 31 Dec 2007
This was one of the first films that I saw on my own, as a teenager. I was touched by it from minute 1. I will always remember the scene when Robert de Niro carries his rubbish and drags it behind him.
I think about that scene whenever I know I carry to much rubbish on my shoulders. At the time I did not understand the whole story about the catholic church and its presence in third world countries and what they tried to achieve.
But this film made me get interested in it and learn more about it. It's an important film in my life. And great sound track to go with it.
