Review of The Mission (1986) by Anton B — 25 Aug 2008
The tale of one man's redemption and another man's conviction set against the larger political and religious background of eighteenth-century South America. I like how director Roland Joffe relies upon his beautiful cinematography and Ennio Morricone's wonderful score rather than dialogue to tell his story.
A very affecting film.
