Review of The Mission (1986) by Byron B — 20 Apr 2009
It's not all that hard for me to get behind historically accurate movies, and after hearing praise after praise from History teachers/students and friends I finally decided to sit down and watch this movie.
Man is it depressing! Yet overall incredibly solid flick. De Niro is fantastic and is Irons (Which I guess isn't all that surprising) but it really opens up a chapter of Europe's dark history and makes one think twice about the sucess of colonization.
Highly reccomended.
