Review of The Mission (1986) by Greg W — 13 May 2009
This film gets points for its beautiful scenery and landscape and overall set production, we really feel like we are there in 1750. this is a really depressing story and what makes it depressing is that it is true, the score is beautiful and really captures the emotion of what is happening.
on e big things that is missing from this film are interesting characters or any development of characters, Irons is generally fine if toned down but I could never connect with Deniro's character ( he doesn't speak very much in the film) nor did he make his character believable.
I wanted more believable characters and more engaging dialogue. The actors were merly there but don't do that much.
